It’s a Wonderful Life  (1946)

There’s nothing like sitting down in the sweltering May sunshine and watching a heartwarming Christmas movie.  Really.  There’s nothing else like that.

Remember that episode of Friends where Phoebe watched this movie and got depressed?  Well that’s so true.  Seriously.  Never switch this movie off part way through.  The ending is beautiful but man is it depressing getting there.

But casting Jimmy Stewart as George was a great idea.  That must have been the easiest directing job ever.  ”Ok James, you’re playing a very nice guy who is adored by everyone he meets.  So… just be yourself I guess?  You know what, don’t even read the script, it’d just slow you down”
